Pakistani Television is an incredible industry that uses an engaging formula of stories being told within a single season, usually around 30 or so episodes, making them long enough to develop some real substance but also without dragging on endlessly. The difference in tone is refreshing; you get believable dramas that take themselves seriously (for the most part), delivering relatable and often thought-provoking entertainment. I will be reviewing some of these shows here because I struggle to find nuanced conversations about these stories anywhere else online. YouTube comments have to be scoured to find anything insightful beyond repeated comments and one-liners, and the PTV subreddit seems to lack a strong enough community for meaningful conversations. There isn’t even a proper dedicated page for PTV serial reviews. So, I will talk to myself for now and hope that someone lands here looking for a discussion the same way I have.
